How to make fish biryani

Fish biryani



The fish biryani is known around the world for it glamorous look and delicious taste. It is really well known in all restaurants in the world and can be the costliest dish on the menu so why don't you just make it at home and feel royal. Finally don't forget to share and enjoy.

Cooking tip: Before cooking the fish apply lemon juice to the fish which will help increase the taste, colour and freshness of it


Ingredients


  • 750 grams of king fish (or any fish you want)
  • 1 tbsp mixed whole spices 
  • 4 small bunches fenugreek leaves
  • 4 tomatoes (sliced or chopped)
  • ½ cup brown onion
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste (heaped)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp chili powder (heaped)
  • 1 tsp coriander (heaped)
  • 1 tsp cumin (heaped)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup yogurt (whipped)
  • 250 gram potatoes (big cubes or big pieces)
  • 750 grams rice (boiled with 2 tbsp salt) (the quantity depends how much you want to eat)
  • 1 tbsp kewra jal (screw pine water)
  • ¼ tsp yellow food colouring 
  • ½ cup of oil
  • green chili (chopped) (the quantity depends on you)
  • fresh coriander (chopped) (the quantity depends on you)

How to prepare the dish


  • First heat the oil and then add garam masala, tomatoes and fenugreek leaves.
  • After that add 1/2 cup of brown onions with ginger garlic paste, all the dry seasonings and then fry well.
  • Then add yogurt (whipped) with potatoes and 1 cup water and cook until the potatoes become tendered.
  • Then add the king fish and cover and cook for approximately 10 minutes. After 10 minutes remove the fish.
  • After that add green chilies and coriander (chopped).
  • Then take a frying pan and arrange a layer of ½ boiled rice with fish masala and potato mixture and then  top with the rice which is remaining.
  • Then sprinkle kewra jal (screw pine water) and yellow food colouring on the top.
  • Finally take the fish pieces and put it on top of the rice and leave it to steam for about 15 minutes.
  • At last serve hot and enjoy.
