How to make pani puri

Pani puri


The pani puri is a world famous street food. Served as a main course. The filling inside the puri and the pani will form a desire in you to want the dish. Can take a long time to prepare but the effort is woth it because when you taste it, you will feel heavenly. Finally don't forget to share and enjoy.

Ingredients for the dough


1 cup semolins (suji)

2 tbsp plain flour

1/2 salt 

1/2 cup soda water (bottle of soda)

Filling


1/2 cup kabuli channe (boil) or Peas (boil)

1 large potato (boiled and chopped)

1 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp amchoor

1/2 tsp black salt

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

some imli chutney

Pani


1 cup fresh coriander leaves

3 green chillies

2 lemon sized ball tamarind (soak in water and extract juice)

1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)

2 tsp black salt

1/2 tsp salt 

3 tsp cumin powder (roasted)

4 cup water

Method


First mix semolins, flour and salt in a medium bowl and knead to a stiff dough with soda water. Cover dough with muslin cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

After that divide the dough into 3 balls. On a floured surface,
roll out a ball thinly and evenly and cut into small rounds with a cookie cutter. Roll trimmings again and reuse.

Then spread a wet cotton cloth and keep puris on it and cover with another wet cloth.

Finally deep fry on very low heat till the colour becomes golden brown. Then mix the potatoes with boiled peas and add salt and spices to it.

For preparing the pani, grind all the pani ingredients in a blender or a grinder. Check salt and seasonings and chill.

Serve the puri with the fillings inside of it and the pani for it in a bowl beside it.
